About Lune Production
Lune Production is an entertainment company established in 2012 at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, used to under Square Group.
The company’s ambition is inspiring Vietnamese culture to the world through art performances.
At Lune Production, we research, create, develop, and promote quality Vietnamese cultural and entertaining productions. Our creation partners are elite Vietnamese artists that have experiences working with international prestige art organizations. Despite different expertise, they share the same passion to uniquely present Vietnamese culture through performances and other forms of arts.
Lune Production’s four key spectacles, naming A O Show, Lang Toi - My Village, Teh Dar performing from North to South Vietnam, have inspired and received much love and critical acclaim from both local and international audience while performing at the Saigon Opera House, Hanoi Opera House, Vietnam Tuong Theater and Hoi An Lune Center, as well as during the world tour of Lang Toi, A O Show and Teh Dar throughout the past few years.
With steady business growth, Lune Production expanded its network to Hoi An, tapping on a market with great potential for cultural products of high quality. Hoi An Lune Center for the Performing Arts is the company's first owned performance venue in the dream of pursuing cultural art production. The venue was built and opened in February 2018 to host extraordinary performances and become a new landmark for visitors when in Hoi An Ancient Town.
Lune Production commits to constant improvement on quality of existing productions and service. We keep creating and searching for spectacular art performances to fulfill our mission of inspiring and preserving Vietnamese culture.

Seaphony Orchestra, a Vietnamese Ethnic music concert was played in Hanoi Opera House on December 12th.
02/2018
The launch of Hoi An Lune Center for the Performing Arts on February 21st.
A O Show toured Japan for the first time. Performed in Kanagawa Arts Theater, Yokohama.

A O Show toured Wellington and Auckland, New Zealand.

The People Behind Lune Production

Vo Thanh Trung
The visionary and achiever Vo Thanh Trung, as one of the founders, has developed Square Group to be one of the largest independent communications group in Vietnam. Square Group has multiplied into 10 companies over the past 10 years, offering services and products in Communications, Events, Digital and Entertainment.
With his sharp business vision, Trung realizes the potential of Vietnamese cultural entertainment. Establishing Lune Production, he believes that the beauty of Vietnamese culture should be shared and appreciated.

Tuan Le
The talented Tuan Le is a world class juggling artist, choreographer, and show director. Tuan Le started as a juggling artist and has earned many recognitions and awards in Germany, where he lived since the age of 14. He is also the first and only Vietnamese artist to work with the largest theatrical producer in the world as a solo artist. Tuan Le has also directed several great shows for different circus theatres.
Lang Toi, A O Show and Teh Dar are his most important works that embody Vietnamese culture.

Nguyen Nhat Ly
Ly was born in France, and grew up in Vietnam. During his childhood, he developed a passion for Vietnamese traditional and ethnic musical instruments.
He then moved back to France and pursued his music career beginning with the Degree in Music from Paris VIII University. Later on he and his partner founded Art Ensemble, an organization that teaches Asian children traditional music.
Under his inspiration and guidance, the live music in every show of Lune Production is mesmerizing, unique and defines the personality of the show.

Nguyen Lan Maurice
Nhat Ly's brother, Nguyen Lan Maurice has strong circus background and establishment. He was trained in the National Circus School in Vietnam and performed for Cirque Plume in France. He then became the artistic director of circus school Arc en Cirque in Chambéry, France.
As a creative director, Nguyen Lan is in the quest of creating arts from scratch. His mission is to work with artists, ‘brainwash’ them from their habits and routines of the past - then nurture their creativity, arts sense, and innovation.

Nguyen Tan Loc
After studying in Japan with a scholarship from Fujisato Ballet School in Tokyo, Tan Loc founded Arabesque dance studio. With the aspiration to develop a contemporary dance language of its own, Arabesque combines contemporary dance aesthetics and classic ballet. ‘The Mist’ is one of their artistic and culturally rich productions.
Joining A O Show and The Mist team, Tan Loc enhance the shows’ visual language through contemporary dance and artistic installation.

Ngo Thanh Phuong
SHOW DIRECTOR OF PALAO
CHOREOGRAPHER OF PALAO & TEH DAR
After graduated from the Folkwang University of Arts in Essen Germany, Phuong came back to Vietnam and worked for the dance company Ea Sola. She then became one of the key choreographers at Arabesque Dance Company, and founded the Open Stage Project.
In 2012, Phuong received the Best Choreography Award at the International Modern Dance competition in Korea and a grant from the Danish Cultural Development and Exchange Fund (CDEF) for her experimental work ‘Erasable’.
With her keen eye for the art of movement, Phuong has contributed her talent in several shows of the company. Her success with Teh Dar led her to the dual positions of director and choreographer of Palao.

A O SHOW
The name ‘A O’ derives from ‘Lang Pho’, which means ‘village and city’. The show depicts the charming beauty and cultural richness of Vietnamese life in the countryside, in contrast with the nation’s racing urbanization. The show is a unique mix of bamboo circus, acrobatic acts, dance, and theatrical visual art. The live music echoes Vietnamese Southern work songs. All in all, this beautiful blend of genres creates a unique stage language, which well captures the essence of Vietnam’s fascinating culture.


TEH DAR
Teh Dar invites audience on a venture into the enchanting world of Vietnamese highlanders. Wild animal hunts, moonlit romance, jungle's tales of death and reincarnation, are all recreated with stunning Vietnamese Bamboo Circus, daring acrobatics, and hypnotizing melody from exotic tribal instruments certified cultural heritage by UNESCO. Meaning ‘going in circle’ in the highland tribe K'ho's tongue, Teh Dar embrace and preserve beautiful and diverse Vietnamese tribal cultures. As the artists keep inspiring, the circle of tribal life keeps going, the cultures shall remain.


LANG TOI - MY VILLAGE
Lang Toi (My Village) is a delicate merge of tradition and innovation, where poetic beauty of Northern Vietnam’s village life is presented under Vietnamese Bamboo Circus approach. Farming, building activities, traditional games, lifestyle of Northern villagers are recreated by ancestral bamboo props, breath-taking circus and acrobatics, rhythmic dance, to distinct folk music from more than 20 musical instruments.
